Personally, I can’t stand 99% of Scrillex’s stuff, but this tune is pure quality. Also, btw, it is NOT dubstep. It’s 110 BPM & the break is considerably different than the standard dubstep stuff, effectively making it “house”. 5/5

“I may only wear gold jewelry, everything else breaks me out.” How a heap of times did I listen that precise phrase from my mother when I was a child? Every time I would give her jewelry that was her response.

Do we please them? Who knows? And, frankly, who cares?

If you love….

Sophie Kinsella and Emily Giffin, you will LOVE this book. Special Delivery is a well written, entertaining and fun read. Traci Hohenstein creates characters you can relate to and you want to root for. This book is the perfect book to read on rainy day or by the pool relaxing. You are guaranteed to finish feeling relaxed and satisfied! I guarantee you won’t regret getting this book!

A fun read

When a new doctor is forced onto Hope’s practice, it’s the last thing she wants, but Brad has a way of getting under her skin that she can’t ignore!

I read Burn Out by Traci Hohenstein and love the way she writes so I was looking forward to reading this romcom and it didn’t disappoint. It’s a really easy, and light-hearted read with great characters that you can easily relate to. If you’re looking a a fast, fun read, Special Delivery is a great pick!

Worth the read!

I really enjoyed this light hearted romantic comedy and hope to read more of them from the author. Only reason I didn’t give it the 5 stars was because the ending left you sort of hanging…you were left wanting to know more…but heh, maybe that was what the author wanted and if we are all lucky there will be a part 2
If you are like me and enjoy fun, light hearted romantic comedies (chich lit) this is definitely worth getting!

Volleyball is a very frequent sport today. There are a great deal of intramural teams and also competitory teams around the world. But, when and where did this ordinary sport begin? The history of volleyball is fascinating, it is interesting to see it’s modest beginnings and the changes that it experienced through the years.

The man that developed volleyball is named William G Morgan. He was a sports instructor at the Young Men’s Christian Association, likewise known as YMCA. Originally the YMCA introduced a new sport that we know today as basketball. Morgan saw that the physical contact of basketball along with the fast pace tired the older businessmen that enjoyed taking part in the games. So, he devised a new sport with less contact and less court motion which he called “mintonette.” This game in the long run turned into the game of volleyball.

Morgan played the game with members of YMCA for in regards to a year before he decisive to present it to a group of YMCA physical education directors. In 1896 the game of mintonette was staged to the managing directors and they suggested that he change the name to “volley ball” since the game consisted of vollying the ball back and forth over the net. The initial official volleyball game was playing on July 7, 1896 at Springfield College.

The history of volleyball shows that Morgan’s firstborn game of mintonette resembled the game of badminton. It was played on a rectangular court with a net all over the center of the court. The teams were split up so that there was not contact with the other team at all– each team was placed on either side of the net. Players would use their hands to beat the ball back and forth over the net. The ball would proceed to be in play until it was missed and hit the floor. Points could be earned when the opposite team could not return the ball.

As volleyball history continued, the rules changed more or less and became more defined. Officials with YMCA devised a rule book that included details when it comes to the court size, ball size, and scoring system. It ultimately morphed into what we recognise as volleyball today.

There are a multitude of reasons for wanting to speak the lingua franca of another people; travel, business, education, personal pleasure, even family or friends. Indeed it’s no little feat to habla español, parlez francaise, or sprechenze Deutcsh, but the prestige, financial gains, personal gratification and jealousy that may accompany this effortlessly nurtured skill may be most rewarding.

But, “Can I actually formulate good communicative accomplishments in a new tongue?” you may well ask. Yes, you may if you’ll use these 10 quick tricks for heightening your language – learning experience and incorporating your new language into your daily life.

1. Take a short course: A number of language courses are without delay available in most areas at a local community college or university. Courses in the continuing education division tend to be more consumer-oriented, less academic and more concentered on the potential needs of students like you. Just get started by attempting to get your tongue around the words. You’ll acquire speed and ease with practice. You may feel ludicrous at first, but persevere. 3. Reading Aloud: One of the most effective language-learning tricks is to use the counsel found in The Bible itself at Joshua 1: 8, “…and you will have to in an undertone read in it day and night, …” and again at Psalms 1:2 stating, “… And in his law he reads in an undertone day and night.” Read passages in the target language aloud to yourself. This powerful technique not only formulates speaking and pronunciation skills, but contributes to listening comprehension, vocabulary and grammar too.

Almost any reading material in your target language will do as long as it’s interesting and reasonably short. You wouldn’t commence an English language learner off by reading “War and Peace” now would you?

4. Watch TV: If you have cable, is there a station broadcast in the language you’re fascinated in? Many metro areas carry programming in Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Portuguese. Even Chinese and Hindi are available in galore regions. Check with your cable provider or programming guides to see what’s listed. Programs to watch are the news, soap operas and documentaries. Have a VCR? Tape a couple of programs and play them over and over to accustom yourself to the flow of the language. Many VCR models have slow-motion and stop-action features permitting you to slow down the program to help your understanding.

5. Listen to Music: In Japan, English students karaoke the Beatles. In Latin America, students mimic Bruce Springsteen. In Africa, the Backstreet Boys rule the airwaves. Lip-syncing ordinary songs is all the rage for English language learners, so why don’t you turn the tables and use it to your advantage. Check at music shops and bookstores for song CDs and tapes. Ask around for recommendations on where recordings in your target language might be available. Ethnic restaurants and shops are another good source for music or referrals. Lyrics to in a literal sense thousands of songs are available online. Songs are often times available online in numerous major languages. Check the local library. The internet will yield hordes of song titles and stations global in dozens of languages. A good online source for starters is http://www.live365.com which has live international feeds 24 hours a day in multiple languages.

6. Read: Stop at the library for a grammar book and a good deal of reading material. The grammar book will be an infrequent guide through those rough spots when the target language grammar is different substantially from English. But don’t overburden yourself with grammar and rules. A copious potpourri of agreeably diverting magazines exists in most major languages and unless you’re learning Cochimi or Kukapa, you will have to be capable to find something. A newspaper, standard interest magazine, the bible, brochures, even comics may aid you along. Short articles are best at first. Although you may wade through one or more of those in a matter of minutes, your personal gratification at doing so will be boundless. Try http://www.amazon.com for hard-to-find titles.

You can’t pick your family; but you may pick your friends and you may pick conversations with native speakers of your target language. In the supermarket, in the mall, in the park, a restaurant or a comfortableness store – almost anyplace you take place to meet or run into a native speaker of your new lingua franca, don’t just stay there mum – say something. People are in general flattered that you’re attempting to meet them on their own terms or in their own language and are ordinarily more than happy to chat. Surely, you may say “Buenos Tardes” to someone passing down the aisle in the supermarket. It’s also great exercise for breaking the ice when you in the long run light out for alien soil.

These quick tricks in conjunction with a short language course will make your language-learning attempts less painless, more interesting, more pleasurable and much easier. Although it’s not as bold as Oscar darling Chicago, The Phantom of the Opera proceeds the resuscitation of the movie musical with a faithful adaptation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s blockbuster stage musical. Emmy Rossum glows in a breakout role as opera ingénue Christine Daae, and if phantom Gerard Butler isn’t Rossum’s match vocally, he does convey menace and sensuality in such numbers as “The Music of the Night.” The most experienced musical theater veteran in the cast, romantic lead Patrick Wilson, sings sweetly but seems wooden. The greatest name in the cast, Minnie Driver, hams it up as diva Carlotta, and she’s the only essential whose voice was dubbed (though she does sing the closing-credit number, “Learn to Be Lonely,” which is also the only new song).

Director Joel Schumacher, no stranger to visual spectacle, seems to have found a good match in Lloyd Webber’s larger-than-life imaginativeness of Gaston LeRoux’s Gothic horror-romance. His weakness is cuing too galore audience-reaction shots and showing too much of the lurking Phantom, but when he calms down and lets Rossum sings “Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again” alone in a silent graveyard, it’s exquisite.

Those who consider the stage musical shoal and overblown in all likelihood won’t have their minds changed by the movie, and devotees will for a limitless time rue that the movie took the better percentage of two decades to develop, which prevented the casting of original principals Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman. Still, The Phantom of the Opera is a welcome exception to the long line of ill-conceived Broadway-to-movie travesties.

DVD Features
The particular edition of The Phantom of the Opera has two major extras. “Behind the Mask: The Story of The Phantom of the Opera” is an hourlong documentary tracing the genesis of the stage show, with consultations of composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, conductor Harold Prince, producer Cameron Macintosh, lyricists Richard Stilgoe and Charles Hart, choreographer Gillian Lynne, and others. Conspicuously absent are stars Sarah Brightman and Michael Crawford. Both do appear in video clips, including Brightman performing with Colm Wilkinson at an early workshop, and Crawford is the subject of a casting segment. Other brief scenes from the show are represented by a 2001 production. The other major feature is the 45-minute making-of focusing on the movie, including casting and the selection of conductor Joel Schumacher Both are well-done productions by Lloyd Webber’s Really Useful Group.

The deleted scene is a new song written by Lloyd Webber and Charles Hart, “No One Would Listen,” sung by the Phantom toward the end of the movie. It’s a pretty song that, along with Madame Giry’s story, makes him a more sympathetic character. But because that bit of backstory already slowed down the ending, it was in all probability a good move to cut the song. –David Horiuchi
